Vision Forward

The “Vision Forward Ad Hoc Committee” is comprised of both general members and board members tasked with examining structural, operational and financially feasible options for MEDC’s future sustainability.

In 2008, MEDC, like many other organizations, began to suffer the consequences of the economic recession resulting in the board’s decision to suspend, the cultural competency program, layoff staff, reduce staff hours and relocate to a much smaller space in the Urban League building, all in an effort to significantly reduce our expenses.  These and other challenges have created an added urgency for MEDC’s Board of Directors to complete the Vision Forward Strategic Planning process, in order to insure our sustainability and our continued success in advocating for communities of color.
