What is Unity Day?

Unity Day is MEDC’s annual sponsored event that provides you with an opportunity to meet with key state Legislators and speak up about important issue impacting communities of color.  Unity Day creates opportunities for MEDC members and partners to help shape and influence Washington State legislative policies. 

When is Unity Day 2010?

 Where will Unity Day take place?

Unity Day 2010  will be held at the John Cherberg Building on the Capital Campus in Olympia, WA.                                                                                                                 

Meeting with Legislators will be throughout the day.  Please contact Dorry Elias-Garcia  at MEDC if you would like to meet with your legislator.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • The meetings are scheduled throughout the day from 9am– 5pm in 15 to 30 minute increments.Participants can attend various scheduled meetings with legislators during this time. 
  • Please begin your day with us at the John Cherberg Building conference rooms B & C at 8:30 a.m. We will have a briefing at this time outlining the day’s events and schedule.
  • PLEASE NOTE: We will NOT host a reception this year. We will have box lunches available for MEDC and Ally members.
  • Participants will be provided with information regarding each of the MEDC supported positions and endorsements.
  • Participants will be able to leave detailed information regarding MEDC’s positions, endorsements and agency information with each legislator.
  • A follow up form will be provided to participants to assure all information requested can be provided to the  appropriate legislator at a later date. The follow up form can be returned to MEDC staff at the completion of the day. 
  • We will have refreshments available all day.
  • Join us for Unity Day all day, half of the day, or just for the reception
